Introduction: Plastics Balance Scale and Graduated Cylinder Builds

For this build, you will need a 25 inch PVC pipe, Kite string, Plastic cups, a Clothes hanger, and a Cardboard box. For the graduated cylinder, you will need your pinky, a piece of paper, a sharpie, and a plastic cup.

Step 1: Plastics Balance Scale & Graduated Cylinder Builds.

Balance scale step 1-2: Get a Cardboard box, Long nail, 25 inch PVC pipe, Clothes hanger, String, and a plastic cup. Next Drill a hole in the PVC pipe and put the nail through it.

Step 2: Plastics Balance Scale & Graduated Cylinder Builds.

Balance Scale step 3-4: After you have done steps 1-2 cut a hole in the cardboard box and make SURE that the PVC fits. Next, put the PVC in the box's hole and tape the PVC to secure it down.

Step 3: Plastics Balance Scale & Graduated Cylinder Builds.

Balance Scale steps 5-6: After you have completed steps 1-4 then you can complete these steps. For this step, you will take a clothes hanger and you will need to cut a piece of kite string that is 8-15 inches long. And tie it to the clothes hanger.

Step 4: The Final Steps for the Balance Scale.

Balance Scale Step's 7-8: Once you have done steps 1-6 you can do these steps. After step 6 put the clothes hanger on the long nail. And now you have a completed balance scale!!!

Step 5: Graduated Cylinder Build

Graduated Cylinder Build Steps 1-2: First, you must get all the supplies. The supplies needed are a Plastic cup, a Piece of paper the size of a child's hand. Sharpie, Tape, and your pinky finger.

Step 6:

Graduated Cylinder Build Steps 3-4: Then you will cut a piece of paper from the lip of the cup to the bottom of the cup. You will need to use your pinky to mark 6 spots on the paper using the marker.

Step 7: The Final Step for the Graduated Cylinder

Graduated Cylinder Build Steps 5-6: After you have done steps 1-4 you can do these steps. After marking the paper tape it to the cup. And walla you have finished the graduated cylinder.

Step 8: How I Used This to Compare Density.

I used the Graduated Cylinder to measure density. The way I used this is by placing an object in the water and seeing how high the water would rise. The first object that I used was a hand sanitizer bottle which rose 11 tick marks. The other object that I used was a Pez dispenser. After collecting all the data the hand sanitizer had more mass and density. The Pez dispenser had more density. The next experiment that I conducted was comparing a Kindel styilis and a rubber finger puppet. The styilis had more mass and density and mass. They both shared volume moving 3 tck marks.

Step 9: Conclusion.

I plan on using these tools for comparing density. And I will also use the balance scale to
