Introduction: Cheesy Potato Creations!
I have never tasted a potato recipe that tasted so delicious! I don’t really like anything in this recipe on its own (except for the cheese), but all together, it came out delicious! Try them out and tell me what you think! Also, I don’t know what to call these potato bite things, so I call it potato creations.
A normal spoon
A colander spoon
A large bowl
A potato masher
Cilantro and extra cheese for garnish
Step 1: Preparing Your Potatoes
First boil water in a pot. Then peel your potatoes skin off, Then cut your potatoes in half. Then rinse your potatoes, put in the boiling water and add a bit of salt. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Then take the water from your pot. Wait for the potatoes to cool a little then transfer to a larger bowl. You will now begin to mash them.
Step 2: Making the Potato “dough”
Get your potato masher and begin to mash the halved potatoes until it is smooth. Now add a little bit of salt and pepper if you would like. Feel free to add more spices. Get your cheese and put it in a bowl. If it is in a block or cube like mine, then use a fork, knife, or spoon, to break it apart. If you have shredded cheese then you are done with it.
Step 3: Creating Each Potato Creation
Knead the dough a bit with your hands. Take about a handful of dough (or less or more, depending how big you’d like them to be). And flatten it out. Get a bit of cheese and put the cheese in the middle of the dough. Cover the cheese with more dough, like a dumpling. Smooth the outside by rolling it in between your palms.
Step 4: Preparing the Egg Coating and Pan
Take an egg and crack it into a bowl. Then whisk the egg around until the egg and white are combined. Place a new pan on the stove and add some oil. Wait until the oil is a bit hot. You will use this to fry the potato creation.
Step 5: Frying Your Potato Creation
Take each little dumpling like potato creation and dip it in the egg mixture. Carefully, plop your potato creation in the hot oil. Be careful! The oil is hot and can jump at you so wear protection. Fry for around 2 minutes. If you didn’t use as much oil like I did, then cook each side for 1 minute or, until golden brown.
Step 6: You Are Done!
Now take all of your potato creations out of the frying pan and onto a plate covered with a towel. I garnished it with some cilantro and leftover cheese. It was so yummy! Congratulations you finished making your potato creation!
